Yellow Tang

This is a closer pic of the first fish in the tank.A Tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens) to be precise.This is a young example but still a beautiful colour.

A fish!!

Finally a fish. After 2 weeks of cycling the water was ready and with my live rock transferred from my nano tank i was buying my first fish.A Tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens) was the fish of choice and settled in very nicely.

Adding sand,salt and water

This pic shows the water up to the correct level with salt added and the sand just been put in. The water stayed cloudy for 2 days.

First days

As you can see it had been emptied a few weeks and the algae had started to take over the inside.It also smelt a bit but we could see past this and set about cleaning her up.At this precise moment the tank was still in the conservatory,which was the only place the wife would let me put it.

We had just got it home at this stage,it weighed an absolute ton.£250 worth of glass off of e-bay.At this point i had only toyed with a nano tank and here i was with 700 litres of potential.It took three of us to shift it and it only fitted into a escort van by centimetres.
